Prepare your child for an exceptional future.

Luther College currently offers two types of scholarships.

A scholarship for academic excellence (entry to Year 7), and the Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship (entry to any year level). The Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship is awarded to a student who displays the values of the College; Excellence, Integrity, Creativity, Service and Community; who demonstrates the high academic potential and whose family circumstances would otherwise not enable them to afford to attend Luther College.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

Luther College is pleased to offer a number of scholarships for academic excellence each year. These highly competitive scholarships recognise and encourage academic potential and promote the pursuit of excellence. These scholarships provide part remission of annual fees.

Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship

The Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship is awarded each year to a prospective student of Luther College. Harald was the Bursar of Luther College from 1981 until his retirement in 1995. His wife, Dodie, expressed a desire to establish a scholarship in his memory and, on her passing, her legacy to establish this scholarship was fulfilled.

The college awards the Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship to a student (in any year level) who we believe displays the values of the college; excellence, integrity, creativity, service and community; who demonstrates the high academic potential and whose family circumstances would otherwise not enable them to afford to attend Luther College.

The Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship is now closed. Applications for this scholarship generally open at the beginning of the year.

Please note the scholarship does not extend to other fees or costs that may be associated with the recipient’s time at the college, such as VET, camp fees, music tuition, materials, or uniform. The scholarship is awarded subject to ongoing educational achievement and enrolment at the college. Scholarship holders are expected to complete their secondary education at Luther College.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants will be invited to complete the Harald and Dodie Ziemer Scholarship Application Form.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend an interview with the Principal. All scholarships offered at Luther College are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and all application details are confidential.

Terms and Conditions

Luther College will accept scholarship applications from students with an accepted position at Luther College for Year 7 2025, as well as prospective applicants; however, any scholarship offer will be subject to the successful completion of both a formal application and interview. Applicants may also be asked to provide additional supporting information including but not limited to NAPLAN results and school reports. Please note that Edutest conducts the scholarship examination on behalf of Luther College.

Academic Scholarships are offered to Australian citizens or permanent residents only.

Scholarship testing is optional. Students with an accepted position at Luther College for Year 7 2025 or with a current application at Luther College for Year 7 2025 or 2026, do not have to take part in the scholarship testing program.

Scholarships are tenable for the duration of a student’s time at Luther College. It should be noted that if the student was to transfer to another school before the end of Year 12, parents will be required to repay the scholarship percentage received from commencement to conclusion of the student’s enrolment.

Scholarships do not cover the cost of application and entry fees, books, uniform, computers or other fees. All scholarships are subject to annual review to confirm that the academic and behaviour standards expected of a scholarship student have been maintained. All scholarship recipients will be expected to actively engage across many aspects of college life.

Failure to meet school expectations may result in the discontinuation of the scholarship. To accept your child’s scholarship offer, a Student Bond in the amount of 10% of the Year 7 Scheduled Fee in the year of confirmation is payable upon acceptance of enrolment at Luther College. This is non-refundable and non-transferable.
